Saturday Tutoring

Tutoring is now available every Saturday from 9 AM to Noon in all subject areas including foreign languages.

grades 9th & 10th

● White tops with collars, no tee shirts

• Polo style or dress shirts

• Girls may wear blouses

• Bottoms are to be navy blue

Khaki, corduroy, or dress
No jeans or sweat pants or sweatshirts or jeggins or leggings
Skirts and jumpers for girls may not be shorter than three inches above the knee
No student is allowed to wear the stretchy, fitted tube skirts.
No fishnets or decorative tights. Opaque tights are allowed in navy, black or white

• Two choices of tops with collars, no tee shirts (official uniform)

Illinois Institute of Technology and Gwendolyn Brooks Partnership - IPRO

Students have an opportunity to develop products and services via a partnership with IIT called IPRO (Interdisciplinary Projects) using science, technology, entrepreneurship, engineering, and math.

Students work in teams and use teachers as group facilitators to move their projects along. Students also visit IIT to work with their professors and utlilize their resources.

Scholarship Opportunity! The Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) is thrilled to offer the IIT STEM+ Scholarship opportunity to incoming freshman. The STEM+ Scholarship is a tiered financial aid package, where students from lower income families could receive a full tuition and housing scholarship for three years of their studies. Brooks Cell Phone Policy

Under the Safe School Zone Law:

Possession and use of an electronic paging device and celular phone is prohibited and will result in disciplinary action.

Cell phones may not be seen or used during the school day, and must remain in the "off" position until the student is outside of the school building.

Failure to comply with these rules will result in the confiscation of the property and disciplinary action.

Cell phones may be redeemed by legal guardians on Tuesdays and Thursdays after 4:00 P.M.

School fees provide students with:

Agenda Handbook
Hall Locker
School Newspaper
Yearbook
Cultural Activities
PE Uniform
Partial cost of postage for mailings to parents and other related items

Other school fees include those for Art, Band, Science, Social Sciences, English, Mathematics, and Physical Education. Students may be required to purchase consumable books, manipulative and/or technology.
